How Self Hypnosis Can Change Your Life?
What is the state of mind referred to as Hypnosis? Self Hypnosis is a simple method, powerfully effective to achieve habit change. It is both relaxing and enjoyable for you to experience. Self Hypnosis is a trance state characterized by suggestibility relaxation and imagination, in which your mind is alert and aware, while your body is very relaxed.
These two conditions — your body relaxed + your mind alert and aware — set up the experience in which your subconscious mind is much easier to access. You are highly suggestible while you are in trance and in this way we bypass the conscious mind that is always putting up walls. Let’s refresh your memory regarding your subconscious mind, OK?
Your subconscious mind is the deep part of your account. The unseen hero of your head. To understand Self Hypnosis you have to understand how the mind works.
You have two different minds. The Conscious and the subconscious. They have different functions. Starting with the Conscious Mind is where we spend most of our time during the day and have 4 functions.
Willpower is the part that can make decisions. You use your will power to say, “No more sweets”, but how long you will keep this decision before the habit comes back depends on the strength of your will power. (You can change almost impossible to change habits only with your willpower!)
This part is the memory you use every day.
Analytical Thought process. This part analyzes the problems and looks for solutions. Makes decisions. These decisions are conscious and deliberate.
Is the part that tells us why we do what we do. We rationalize our behaviors even if make sense only to us. The language of the Conscious Mind is Logic
The Subconscious Mind is where you will find Habits. All the kind of Habits that we don’t even know they exist or we don’t pay attention like washing our hands before lunch.
Our emotions are in the subconscious mind. Our logical mind has no control over our emotions. It’s left to our subconscious Mind to control them. And this causes the problems we have with the emotions.
Your subconscious mind is the part of your brain that has a memory of the events that have occurred in your life; Including the sight, smell and all the feelings. During Hypnosis you can relive any memory from your life even if not aware that is there.
The most important job of our subconscious mind. To keep us alive!!
The language of the subconscious mind is Imagination.
It is funny that human beings are using Will power to suppress Emotions and control Habits. Will Power is Temporary and suppressing the Emotion can redirect in a negative counting. In most cases, the habits return anyway.
Now, remember that the language of the conscious Mind is Logic where the language of the subconscious is imagination. When Logic and Imagination conflict, Imagination wins every time!!
The subconscious mind is the Boss. Because its language is imagination, cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is not. Because everything is real to the imaginative mind. If it believes it to be true, then it is.
So now we can see how Self Hypnosis works
Normally Conscious Mind is in front and subconscious at the back. Between these two there is a filter that we call the critical faculty.
This part is critical of information before we let it enter our subconscious mind or our belief system or our permanent memory. If you hear something that you believe is crazy or against your beliefs, your conscious mind will not allow it to enter your belief system or your programming.
Children from 0-7 years are operating from the subconscious mind almost 100% of the time. This is why a child’s mind is like fertile ground. Whatever seeds you put is what is going to grow. So the children don’t have the critical faculty yet.
Self Hypnosis occurs when the conscious mind moves aside, and the critical faculty bypassed allowing your subconscious mind to become receptive to positive suggestions to change. So, these positive suggestions are planted in your subconscious mind. Self Hypnosis is a natural state. You do it every day. When you watch a movie and you feel emotions like fear or sadness you are at your subconscious mind. Your logical mind knows it is only a movie. Yet you still feel sad. This is so because your conscious mind is not there. The critical faculty has been bypassed.
The seeds that we put to our subconscious mind can grow and cause incredible changes into our beliefs, thoughts, habits, and behaviors and even our health.
To put it, your subconscious mind operates as a very obedient servant. Yes, you have your very own, obedient servant sitting there, awaiting your commands! Remember the old genie movies: “Master, your wish is my command.” Well, you have your genie in the form of your subconscious mind!
Although Self Hypnosis is a widely popular method for removing phobias and bad habits. You can also use it to become the person you’d like to be.
Self Hypnosis Reprograms your Mind
Self Hypnosis works by reprogramming your mind. The hypnotherapist induces a state of deep relaxation and then makes suggestions to you.
We’re all susceptible to the power of suggestion — we receive recommendations all day every day, from advertising, from our friends and colleagues and ourselves. However, when you’re awake and alert, you’ll dismiss most of the suggestions you receive. This is just as well. Otherwise, your life would be unbearable.
In Hypnosis, the analytical part of your mind is temporarily in abeyance, so your subconscious mind accepts suggestions, and your behavior changes accordingly.
Achieve Any Goal You Set
Self Hypnosis is a low-stress method of changing your attitude towards your goals and changing your behavior so that you start working towards achieving those goals.
Using Self Hypnosis, you can set goals in any area of your life. You can improve your working life, your social life, your relationships, your health, and your finances.
Steps through which you can Change your Life with Self Hypnosis
As we mention above the subconscious mind does not know the difference between what you see from what you imagine you see. The subconscious mind learns from actions, not wants or words. Therefore, to make changes, you must SHOW the subconscious what you want to change. We can use this odd quirk of the psyche to make lasting changes using visualization. Is not exactly hypnosis but it can be helpful.
Prepare for self-hypnosis by finding a quiet place where you will be undisturbed for a few minutes. Then close your eyes. Closing the eyes reduces mental activity by 1/8th. This helps to quiet you and relax you for the next step.
Visualize or imagine precisely what you want. Put yourself there and use all five senses in the imaginary scene. Concentrate on this image to add as many details as you can using all your thoughts. Seeing yourself in the scene is an essential part of the communication to the subconscious.
Add emotion to the scene. Having an emotional reaction is like ringing the bell at the customer service desk to get some attention. An emotional response jolts the subconscious into action. Emotions tell the subconscious that what it sees is not a regular event, but something it must pay attention to.
In your imaginary scene, feel the joy of being a nonsmoker. Imagine the cigarettes in the trash and feel disgusted with them. See others smoking and feel the disappointment. See those who are sick or have died from cigarettes and imagine the sense of loss and grief. Make the emotion as real as possible. Don’t be afraid to feel the excitement, even if it makes you start crying.
Imagine this scene for about five minutes. If you go longer, you may lose focus, and your mind will wander. If you go shorter, you may not form the vision strong enough to make a difference.
Self Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can change your life for the better. You can eliminate challenges and achieve any goals you set.
I love you all! Stay on the good path!!
